1st Day Of 1st Reservist

Okay, I know I promised pictures from my cousin's engagement ceremony, but that'll have to wait. Even though I spent the last few hours of my free time before reservist to finish editing and cropping them pictures, and sending them off to the photo printer shop. The pictures turned out good though. :D Some better than the others (I especially love the 8Rs that I set aside - love them!), but they're alright overall. I'm having doubts with my regular photo printer shop after they screwed up my last batch of photos before this... Even this one's not as great as I had hoped. Oh well.

Now that's off my chest, time to blog about my first day of my first reservist.

I slept at 3 am this morning 'cause I was trying to get rid of a virus from my computer. It's a bloody resilient virus, and I didn't manage to get rid of it. :( I'll try again when I have more time. It doesn't seem to be destructive, rather it just annoys me to no end, is all.

Woke up at 6:15 am, feeling like I didn't sleep at all. My mom woke me up, and I thought, "Ahhh, I wanna sleep 5 more minutes..." But as soon as that thought ends, I had a stomachache. Great. My body's not listening to my brain. Superb. Went to the loo, bathed, got ready, and went off. My dad sent me. Haha. Otherwise, I'd have to wake up at 5:30 am, leave at 6 am to reach at Seletar Camp at 7:30 am. >.<

Reached Seletar Camp, went for in-processing, went for briefing and the usual waiting past-time of Army personnel. Went to the MT line to visit my former platoon warrant when I got tired of waiting. What a laugh. When he saw my face peeking behind the Transport office door, he stood up and exclaimed, "Eh! Zul! You're here!," he faced to his men in the office, "He is the reason why everything is cocked up in the Transport office!" Hahaha. He introduced me to the current transport supervisor as his "upper-upper study". Funny old guy. Haha.

After that, I found out where the rest of the key-appointment-holders (related to MT line) are, and also that I am appointed the MT Specialist. That is, I'm the overall specialist in charge. I have a 2nd Sergeant (who is 2 years older than me) and an early-30s 3SG who is most probably richer and more experienced than me... But I am assigned as the specialist-in-charge. Right. On my first reservist too. Great. -.-"

And then when I found out what we were supposed to do, that's when my eyes went o.O. At times I couldn't wrap my mind around what was going on 'cause everything was going past me so fast, but luckily the 2SG was quite experienced and knew what to do. I was the official MT Specialist, but he was the real mover of the operations. I felt blessed that I wasn't stuck with someone who couldn't be arsed to do shit or help me out.

Things didn't quite go as smoothly as I had hoped, but they should be fine, I think. We've got most of what is required to be planned out and I just need to get acquainted with the minute details. Yes, I brought the shit home to go through. SUPER ON OR WHAT?! -.-"

But the house of cards are really easily toppled by a breeze. Since I've got so many things going on at one go (really... like... at least 10 things are urgent, to be done as soon as possible, like yesterday), if one jams on its brakes, the rest will just come ramming on as a pile-up. Dammit, why am I using accident as metaphors?! Touch wood!

Ooh, we're all staying out... So that's a good thing. But there's a chance that the MT Specialist will need to go down to the Exercise ground with the men on Monday. *Sigh...* I hope not!

Quite a big exercise and quite a lot of people, and so far I think we've done a good job. But. The 2SG is having an Off day (What! You can do that?!) tomorrow and I don't know how I'm going to handle things without my right-hand man. The other 3SG had not been in reservist for about 10 years (or was it 5? I can't recall), so he's not exactly in touch with all the things going on. I can't say that I am totally in tune with things myself, but when I was an NSF, I helped the reservists handle their in-camp training, and I think I would do well tomorrow, provided I can get the plannings straightened out in my head. I just don't want to forget something and mess things up.

I know, I know... Why stress myself so much, right? I mean, I'm no longer an NSF, why bother so much?! I don't know... It's just that I like doing things right and not make mistakes. Haha.

Alright, back to the sheets of paper with notes written all over them, and puzzle them all together so that I have a right view of things tomorrow.

High-key on my first reservist, gotta love it!
