Nuraniah & Farid's Wedding

Aniah, one of my ex-classmates from Woodlands Secondary School, got married to Farid, her long-time boyfriend, on 29th July. Congratulations!

Aniah and me were never close, in school or out of it, but we were friends, nevertheless, and she invited me to her wedding. It was held somewhere 5 minutes walk away from Admiralty MRT station, where I was supposed to meet with a few of my other ex-classmates.

And Malek stayed home, pretending to be sick.

Okay, okay, he was really sick. Hurr.

We were supposed to meet at about 1 pm, but one of us was late, because her boyfriend was late, and we finally reached the wedding at about 2 pm. -.-" Aniah and Farid were already on the pelamin, and taking photos with their family and friends. We wanted to join in and take photos too, but there seemed to be a long queue, so we went to eat first. As we were seated and eating, I ran back and forth to take some shots. Haha. Didn't manage to get good shots though, due to the bad lighting and the huge crowd.

If I ever get married, I'm going to place floodlights in front of the pelamin for all the photographers, so that the point-and-shooters don't have to bother with high ISO, and therefore noise, in their pictures. Hurr. Come on, people, add more lighting to your thrones! Not backlight either, 'cause that serves no real purpose. Using flash just gives an artificial look to the pictures. That is, if you, like me, can't add an external flash to your camera and bounce the light off the ceiling. :(

This picture doesn't look so bad, at this size. My zoom lens at work! Woo!

The dikir barat performance, and part of the crowd.

High ISO, slightly longer shutter speed = slightly underexposed image, and lots of noise. Plus, it didn't help that I was shooting against the sunlight. Hurr. Oh, and the couple looks quite good together, doncha think? :D

Some of the ex-classmates that were there. Okay, no one mention my man-boobs, you hear! And that means you, Jr and A.A! :P (Shit, that probably just shifted your attention and made you focus on the damned man-boobs, didn't it? Bah!)

The papparazzi! The digital age had brought about more of these types. Go to a wedding and try, if you can, to count all the digital cameras that are out and about.

From left: Nuraidah, Nor Aslinda, Madam Rohani and daughter, Rohainizah, Zuraidah. Madam Rohani was our sec 3 (I think) Art teacher. She stopped teaching us when she went and got pregnant with her first kid - a boy. Hurr. We went through quite a number of Art teachers, methinks.

When we were done eating, Aniah and Farid had gone off to the groom's side, at Yishun. We decided to wait for them to return, so that we could take photos and chat with them a bit. We waited about 3 hours or so, until we heard they were still at Yishun cutting cake, before we decided to leave. When I was waiting for a bus, I SMS-ed Aniah congratulating her on her wedding and wishing her a blessed marriage. I was surprised like hell when she replied back thanks. I asked her, "Eh, you still can reply SMSes on your wedding day? Where are you keeping your phone? Got a pocket in your wedding dress?" To which she replied, "I asked my bridesmaid to hold my handphone so that I can reply to SMSes." Haha. I imagined her slinging her handphone around the neck, though. :P

I told her that a bunch of us had left and found out that she was on the way back to the Woodlands side. Bahhh. I was already about halfway back home already. Oh well.

Damned miscommunication. What a waste. :(
