I haven't been blogging much eh? I have good reasons though! :D
A few weeks ago, one of my cousins asked me to shoot her engagement ceremony. I was reluctant at first 'cause my Panasonic Lumix FZ-5 is really not up to the task. Then, my mom said that she'd pay for a rented DSLR, and after a long time of pondering, I agreed to do it.
There are a lot of people offering DSLRs for rent on ClubSNAP, and I asked for a quote from a few of them. I finally went with Kenny Lee as although the prices he quote are competitive with the rest, he delivers and collects the equipment to/from you! How convenient is that! Erm, this is not an advertisement, but just a shout out to a good service provider that I've personally used. :)
Most of the other people renting out equipment would only meet you at a place of their convenience, or an MRT station that's close to both parties. The push factor for me to go with Kenny was his free delivery and collection service (if the rental is above S$30). It seems he's not going to be providing this service from January 2008 onwards. Such a shame.
Anyway, these were what I rented. :D
The items were as follow :
- Nikon D80 camera
- Nikkor AF-S VR 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED lens
- Nikon Speedlite SB-800 flash
- Included free-to-use : extra battery, battery grip, Lowepro bag, charger, 2GB SD card
I rented the equipment on Monday morning, and in the evening went to play with it at Changi Airport's new Terminal 3 with my friend, boboshooter. :D
The next day, 25th December 2007 was my cousin's, Sarinah, engagement ceremony and I shot the event with Syira as my assistant. At the end of the day, we had a total of exactly 550 photographs between the two of us. Hahahahha.
One of the photographs from the ceremony... I am not happy with how I shot this image (focusing/composition/framing - all messed up), but I still like this picture. Ah well, lessons learned.
I've filtered the pictures down to 279 from the 550, and I've only just begun editing them... I will post more pictures from the engagement ceremony and also from Terminal 3 in my next two entries.
Got a Grasio silat shoot on Saturday. Renting a different camera... Wheee!
