DotA Banner + Exam Results (June 2008) Amendments
I really have quite a number of things to do and complete. Not all are urgent, but it'd be better if I do them as soon as I can. I end up doing some other things that are unrelated, instead, because they're more fun. _-_"
One of which was I designed a banner image for www.dota.tv, a site I visit often to get new DotA maps and read about some interesting DotA information. I had looked around for a nice fan-art and found one by the superbly talented Sandara which I think is quite cool. Sandara graciously gave her permission for me to use the artwork too, which is 100 times more cool. :D
Click on the image above to see the larger version... Or you could just go to www.dota.tv, but that version lacks the bottom part of the design... 'Cause we couldn't troubleshoot why it's not displaying. I hate CSS sometimes. :P
In other news, remember my last semester's exam results? Apparently the uCore modules' grades had been moderated! After a lot of students complained that their grades dropped down 1 level (some 2!) than what they were supposed to get, the UniSIM exam committee decided to revert back to the actual grades.
So these were the grades that I had received last June :
And after the amendment, these are my new grades.
3 subjects were affected, Personal Financial Planning, Learning To Learn and Creative Thinking. I had all 3. Hahaha. While I was satisfied with the grades that I had received (I didn't know we were being moderated!), the new grades please me even more! I got a B+ instead of a B for Creative Thinking, an A instead of a B+ for Learning To Learn, and B instead of B- for Personal Financial Planning. My GPA is 4.31 now! Yay!
Speaking of school stuff, I managed to attend my COR100 waiver examination yesterday. This was the exam that I had overslept for previously... The one I overslept for was at 2 pm... The one I managed to attend yesterday was at 9 am. Hahaha. If you could've seen my preparation... I had 3 alarms and 3 people to wake me up at 6 am. All 3 did so! I woke up at the first alarm, but wanted to snooze for a bit... But I didn't manage to. 'Cause I had also set a million reminder notes on my handphone to wake up. :P
The exam was... Alright, I suppose. It's a waiver exam for the Effective Communication module, which is basically an English language subject... I wasn't quite sure what to study before the exam and I ended up not really studying at all. Funny how I studied so much for the previous exam that I had overslept for. Haha.
The question paper was 12-pages long. I believe I took half an hour just to read them damned questions! There were only 3 questions with an average of 3 parts each and I managed to answer everything, although not to my satisfaction... Last word was written when the Chief Invigilator said "The time is now 12 o'clock. Please stop writing." I think I'd be able to pass it... And if I'm not wrong it's just a Pass or Fail categorisation, no grades are allocated. And I don't think it will affect my GPA, so I should be fine! I hope!
School starts on Tuesday... I'm only doing 4 modules (compared to 6 last semester), but some weeks I have classes on Saturdays or Sundays, and there's one week in September where I have a class on both Saturday and Sunday! Well, lucky for me (kinda), I'm not working a full-time job... Pity my classmates though for the weekend burned!
The modules look slightly more erm... Challenging. I think I shall be fine, though. In any case, I'm quite happy that school is starting again. :D
