Exam Results June 2008

Exam results were released yesterday. I was nervous when I opened up the results page 'cause I knew I didn't do too well for my Math 201 exam. :(

But all's well. :D

Yay! I managed a B for my Math 201! (And an A+ for Math 101, omg, who would've thought?! Haha!) A- for my Introduction to Media Communication, which is nice. :) Personal Financial Planning's grade, I had foreseen... All in all, not bad for the first semester, I suppose, with a 4.10 GPA. :D

More good news is that I qualified for the government subsidy! Read/download here if you've not heard about what this subsidy thing is all about. 2 of the eligibility criterias were that the student must either have 2 years of full-time work experience, or must currently be employed full-time. Since I have neither the full 2 years working experience nor the full-time employment status, I wasn't sure I'd get the subsidy when I sent the form in. But I qualified! So, yay!

Although... After re-reading the PDF I linked above... The paragraph below makes me wonder...

"All current (as at May 2008) UniSIM students on undergraduate degree programmes awarded by UniSIM who meet condition (a) will also qualify for the subsidy from July 2008 semester."

Does that mean that we're getting the subsidy anyway because we meet condition (a) (and not neccessarily conditions (b) and (c), like me?) since we enrolled before July 2008? And it states "from July 2008 semester", and unless there's a typo ("from" being the typographical error, instead of the word "for"), does that mean that even if I don't get a full-time job before the following semester, the subsidy will still be in place? Why do these people have to write these things so damned cryptically!

And if this subsidy is only for July 2008, does that mean I'd have to apply again for the next semester? Don't they count NS as working experience? (Oh man, don't get me started on that topic... Read here for some good points made by Mr. Wang.)

In other news, I had another bad haircut. :( That'll be my next post. With pictures so that you can all laugh at me, I promise. Heh.
