New These Past Few Weeks

Exams are coming up early next month! *Starts to panic a little bit*

These past couple of weeks have been slightly busy, a bit with work, a bit with school, a bit with friends, a lot at home. Hah.

One of the work stuff that I was doing included a couple of 2.4 metres x 0.5 metre pillar banners that will be installed at Forum's Toys 'R Us. I'm pretty pleased with the final look (but not 100% happy 'cause I wished I had more time to clean up some of the stuff, and plus, I think I suffer from OCD), and I can't wait to see them up on display. :D

School assignments' due dates had been known from the beginning of the semester, but as usual, I keep procrastinating (yes yes, Syira, I procrastinate a lot too!) and then I start panicking near the end. I had 2 assignments due on the week the banners were due, but I managed to do them fine... Well, I rushed through my Maths assignment and didn't do that great for that one... Meh. I need to allocate more time studying for my Maths 101 and 201... There are a lot of topics covered, and I am getting very worried that I might not be able to understand everything.

In the beginning of the semester, we were told that we weren't going to get the formula handbook for Maths 101 and 201 exams, and I think all of us were worried as hell... There were so many chapters in so many units, which had so many formulae each. Plus Maths 101 and 201 exam papers are to be taken together at the same time. Die. But several of the older students (they seemed to be in their late 30s to early 40s) typed up a letter, and asked the class to sign a petition, which was then sent to the... Erm... Sent to somebody I can't remember. And a few days ago, I logged on to UniSIM's Blackboard system and saw the announcement that we will be given the formula handbook for the exam papers. Yay!

Still, study. I need to. Soon.

Also, still on school topics, I received the marks for my Introduction to Media Communication assignment 2 a couple weeks ago (assignment 1 was blogged about here). I got 87% for it, and I received 78% for the previous one, so there's a nice symmetry to it. :D I was worried I wrote too much for that assignment since the word limit was 1,500 (2,000 was acceptable, according to the tutor), and when I was done typing out my assignment, the word count was over 3,500. O.o A few hours of editing later, I got it down to 2,900+, and I stopped editing and submitted. I'd rather write too much than write too little.

Of course when I heard of assignments being marked only up to the word limit, I started panicking again. Hahaha. Luckily the Introduction to Media Communication tutor was lenient about the word limit, and he commented in my assignment that it was "a pleasure to mark" my script. Yay again!

There are 4 other modules that I'm taking, but they are not as fun to blog about. :P I only have 4 more lessons to attend before exam period, though. I really need to start studying soon. I have only 3 papers to take, and they are on 12th and 14th May. So... Erm... I'm sure I will be able to wake up for these exams though, 'cause they're at 7 pm and 7:30 pm respectively! Haha.

Jumping topic... Now.

I was rushing the finishing touches to the banner on Tuesday night (it was sent for print on Wednesday morning) when Syaiful asked me if I wanted to go grab dinner. It was about 11:45 pm. Syaiful's weird, isn't he? Well, usually I'd say yes (so I'm weird too), but I figured I'd better finish everything and skip it, otherwise I might come back after dinner and get lazy. I managed to finish all the edits by midnight, after which, I SMS-ed him that I was finally done. He replied that he was just about to leave his house, and extended his offer again. I said ok, and asked for 30 minutes to get ready. At about 12:30 am, we went off to dinner... At Johor.

I asked, "You're going to JB just for dinner?" When he said yes, I asked, "What's wrong with the nearby shops?" He replied that they were too near.

.......

We went to Singgah Selalu, and I had the chicken chop meal which was... Wow. I daresay the best chicken chop I've ever had. I had a sinful chocolate milkshake along with it, and even that was heavenly. Not supersweet, but just sweet enough. Total cost was only about RM 18. Go try! :D

Syaiful went to top up his petrol and that was it. Short, but fun outing, with a satisfying meal to boot. Woot.

Hmm... What else do I have to blog about? I have several more assignments due soon... And I've not been out walking. :(

Ooh, I could blog about the crush I have on this particular girl at UniSIM...
