West Coast Park Photoshoot

Me and A.A were supposed to go for a walk on Monday... A slightly amended walk... Which began with a quick dinner at Fong Seng. Haha.

A.A took several shots of me while I was sweltering under the night heat, trying to eat my dinner. Since I kept moving, he couldn't get a good picture, so I figured I'd pose for one.

A.A inhaled his food down and had to wait till I was done. I took a longer time to finish mine 'cause he started way without me! Hmmph. After the meal, we went to West Coast Park and started shooting more pictures.

If you realised by now... This isn't a walk! Where's the video?! Where's the transcript?! Where's the photo of me sweating?! Oh wait, that's already posted, my sweating self eating dinner. But yeah, this was our last "walk" together, which we figured we'd go shoot night shots of West Coast area instead. Wait, what? Last walk? Why!

'Cause A.A got a new job, that's why! Congratulations, A.A!

We'd always been able to walk during these ungodly hours 'cause we were both not working (well, apart from some small projects here and there), but now he's gotten a full-time job which has some time issues that clash with our walking schedules. Oh well. I hope I can continue walking on my own, after this... Or maybe find a new walking partner. Anybody wanna join me? :D

Back to the pictures... Here's the supposed one and only (according to A.A) White Rabbit yacht in Singapore. Not exactly one of the bigger superyachts, but I don't really care for yachts. I'd love to own one though. Looks cool. Haha.

Sidetrack a little bit... Have you ever watched this video?

Well, on Sunday, me and A.A were talking about wanting to make one, and he said that he's got pretty much all the items needed, and he was probably going to make one the next day. To which I said, "Oh okay... Make 2 okay!" Heh. And he did! He brought it along on Monday for our photoshoot, and here's one I took using the "image stabiliser".

I shot this at ISO-200 (no choice), F/2.8, and with a shutter speed of 1 second (don't bother to check the EXIF info... Stripped off!). Take a look at how relatively not-blurry the background is. Woot. Haha. Even though 1 second is really not that long, the stabiliser definitely helped a lot at removing up and down hand movements. Doesn't do crap for left and right hand movements, of course.

My verdict? It's fun to try it, and it works to a good extent, but will never replace tripods, of course. I've not had problems with it tangling up in my pocket, but A.A had a bitch of a time untangling it. If you're planning to make one, try to find a relatively thick piece of string, like some thick twine or something. A.A made ours with some pretty good twine, and that really helps with the untangling... Well, for me anyway. If you use thinner strings, you might end up having knots all over and come out in the end with the stabiliser not even reaching your eye level.

Of course, if you plan to use it often, prepare to look a bit daft. But what's the difference if you use tripods? You'd look like an idiot either way too. :P

We were shooting there for maybe half an hour or so only before it was time to leave. Oh well. Before we left, I shot this though! I like how it turned out. (Guess what it is!)

Ehh, pity the noise though. :(
